SSI Scuba Diver Course

The SSI Scuba Diver Course consists of classroom sessions, most of which can be done for free online, confined water sessions and two dives in open water. We teach in small groups, so you get individual attention.

The course usually takes two to three days. This course can always be upgraded to SSI Open Water Diver at any time in the future. It entitles you to dive to a maximum depth of 12 metres with an active Instructor or Dive Leader from any organization. The card is valid for life. The price is unbeatable!

The confined water sessions are always done in a pool with both deeper (2.5 to 3 metres) and really shallow sections where even children easily can stand up. All skills are done shallow first, until you're confident, then progressively deeper. This gives excellent results and makes for skilled and confident divers. Remember, we're in no rush!

The open water dives can be done from a beach close to our Kata shop. This is unbeatable pricewise given the quality of instruction. We do recommend diving from our day trip boat, however. For a marginally higher price, you get even more fun out of your dives.

The prices are all-inclusive, there are no hidden extras.

SSI Scuba Diver Day Boat Option

Minimum age: 10 years

Duration: 3 - 4 days

Prerequisites: medically fit for diving

Course includes: log book, free scuba diving equipment rental for duration of course, loan of SSI OW manual, certification cost, two Open Water dives from the beach

Certification limits:
Max.18 metres of depth during training
Following certification the limit is 12 metres
Must dive with an active Instructor or Dive Leader following certification

Price: 8,000 baht

Optional: Buy the manual for 1,300 baht
