PADI Courses

The Professional Association of Diving Instructors, PADI, is the world's largest recreational diving membership and diver training organization.

Many millions of divers have been certified through PADI's training programs since its inception in 1966.

With Scandinavian Scuuba Doo you can be assured of patient and very experienced instructors. The average Scuuba Doo instructor has some 300 certified PADI students to his or her credit. You can also rest assured that we will follow all PADI standards. This means a highly structured, safe and but fun course. It also means that you must buy the training materials (manuals etc) for those courses where PADI has made this mandatory.

The PADI courses are a great way to learn how to dive and a great way to continue your dive education. All PADI courses are good, but we particularly want to draw your attention to the PADI Divemaster course which remains the most popular way to become a dive professional worldwide.

PADI Beginner Courses
  PADI Continuing Education Courses
  PADI Professional Level Courses
If you want to see if diving is for you, you should do a Discover Scuba Diving course. This takes half-a-day to one-day. It's fun and not expensive at all.

The first independent diver level is the famous PADI Open Water course. This takes three or four days.

If you are pressed for time we recommend the PADI Scuba Diver course , which gives you a card valid for life, permitting you to dive to 12 metres with a PADI Professional. You can upgrade this to PADI Open Water Diver at any time, anywhere.

Don't stop at the Open Water level! There is so much more to learn!

Your next step is the classic PADI Advanced Open Water course. After this, you are certified to dive down to a maximum of 30 metres.

The PADI Rescue Diver course is known as 'serious fun'. After this, you will be a much better buddy and a much more self-confident diver.

In order to become a Rescue Diver, you need proof of up-to-date First Aid training. The Emergency First Response course, or EFR, is an excellent First Aid course, suitable also for non-diving family members because it is not a dive-specific course.

The PADI Specialty courses are a great way to explore areas of interest. E.g. the PADI Deep Diver course allowing you to go down to a maximum of 40 metres, or the  PADI Enriched Air course, which qualifies you to use nitrox to a maximum of 40%.

Once you have the Rescue card and five Specialty certifications plus 50 dives in total, you can apply for the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating, which is a great achievement!
The first professional level in the PADI system is the PADI Divemaster course. It gives you both the practical and theoretical foundations to become a PADI Professional, to guide divers, to assist in diver training etc.

It is also a course that gives great personal benefits even if you don't want to become a dive professional.

If you want to become a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor we can put you in touch with diligent and experienced PADI Course Directors for the Instructor Development Course. Please email us for more information.
